About Carla

Professional Bio

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I hold two Masters Degrees in Psychology from Pepperdine University, Graduate School of Education and Psychology. I began my clinical work in 2010 as a crisis counselor at the Suicide Prevention Center of Didi Hirsch for three years. I have also been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in residential rehab settings. After completing graduate school, I became a therapist intern at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills in 2013 where I was trained in psycho-dynamic therapy with adults. In 2014 I completed my internship working with families and adolescents at the Self Injury Institute, a team of clinicians who specialize in treating families with adolescents who self harm. As an intern, I developed a focus on relationship issues and social anxiety. Experience with increasingly challenging cases led to an interest in personality disorders, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder, as I began treating victims of narcissistic abuse and individuals with co-dependency, anxiety and complex PTSD as a result of challenging or abusive relationships.  

Currently, I’m a therapist in private practice in West Los Angeles, where I treat adults and adolescents who are seeking guidance in improving their relationships and overall quality of life. The main scope of my practice is recovery from narcissistic abuse, anxiety reduction and communications skills. 

In my free time, I enjoy watching standup comedy, eating pizza and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
